Christmas book suggestions...

I've decided to post Christmas book suggestions this month.

The Story of Holly and Ivy by Rumer Godden

This is the story of a little girl who yearns for a doll and a grandmother. It's also the story of a woman who years for a child of her very own. Heartwarming.

Those wishing to teach their children about St. Nicholas might find this lovely book helpful:

The Real Santa Claus: Legends of Saint Nicholas by Marianna Mayer

  1. Hi Angela,

I thought I would list our Christmas books by year for you. We have other Christmas books as well, but we always get a new one each year to be our special book. For whatever reason, we have 2 labeled "2001" and none labeled "2007."

1999 Sing Along Christmas Songs Illustrated by Laura Gibbons Nikiel
2000 Olive the Other Reindeer by J. Otto Seibold
2001 Away in a Manger Illustrated by Linda Clearwater
    2001 Mooseltoe by Margie Palatini
2002 Merry Christmas Big Hungry Bear! by Don & Audrey Wood
2003 The Sweet Smell of Christmas by Patricia Scarry
2004 S is for Star by Cynthia Furlong Reynolds (this never fleshed out as a favorite)
2005 A Christmas Tale by "Geronimo Stilton"
2006 The Christmas Toy Factory by "Geronimo Stilton"
    2007 ???
2008 The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson (our all time favorite!)
2009 The House Without a Christmas Tree by Gail Rock (not the most memorable on the list)
